A new chapter for Marbaise
Founded in 1910, Marbaise is an iconic family business specialising in footwear, leather goods, and, more recently, ready-to-wear fashion. For over a century, the brand has been part of the region’s commercial and cultural landscape, combining craftsmanship, quality, and a keen sense of style.
From generation to generation
In 1989, Éric and Patricia took over the reins, representing the fourth generation of the Marbaise family. Under their leadership, the brand modernised and expanded its regional presence. Indeed, with stores in Verviers, Bastogne, Wavre, Heusy, and in the Cora shopping gallery in Rocourt. A few years later, Éric Paulus was joined by his wife, Annick Pirnay.
Despite its remarkable growth, Marbaise faced several challenges: economic crises, health-related upheavals, and the digital transformation of the fashion industry. After more than thirty years of building this beautiful story, Éric Paulus and Annick Pirnay decided to hand over the company, opening a new chapter while preserving its heritage and family values.
Looking to the future
It is now Xavier Goebels, a well-known entrepreneur from the region and founder of the PointCarré retail chain (sold in 2022), who has taken over Marbaise. His ambition: to give the brand new momentum while building on its strong identity and regional roots.
